Guest Speaker
Author E.J. Simon

Jim aka E.J. Simon was the CEO of GMAC Global Relocation Services (a division of General Motors) and the head of the largest and oldest real estate company in the greater New York area, Douglas Elliman. He’s also been a senior executive with Prudential Financial. He has specialized in his business career in turning around organizations.

Most recently he is a management & leadership consultant to many leading private equity firms and corporations and the head of a boutique small press publisher, Simon Zef Publishing.

He is a world traveler, food enthusiast and has published two novels: Death Never Sleeps and Death Logs In – they’re traditional crime thrillers with a main protagonist who duplicated himself on a computer using artificial intelligence – just before he was murdered. They’ve been Amazon best sellers and have received excellent reviews. His third novel, Death Logs Out, is due out this fall.

But he’s not here tonight to talk about his books. He’s here to talk about his journey - about following his dream – how that has changed his life and, more importantly, what he’s learned while on that journey.

Jim received his BA in Journalism from the University of South Carolina and an MA from Fairfield University in Connecticut.

Jim’s family is originally from Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill. He currently lives with his wife Andrea in Westport, CT – and is in the process of moving to the Triangle area.
